Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at our restaurant. We also have a cheese board and a charcuterie board if you are interested in something light to pair with our award winning wines.
Our food showcases the changing seasons with seasonal dishes that are a celebration of our heritage. All our produce is locally sourced from farmers that are committed to sustainable farming practises.
Our philosophy is based on a love for good food and good wine. We connect people through delicious food, a beautiful setting and a memorable experience. With a focus on traditional Cape cuisine, we hope to showcase the flavours of our country. All ingredients on the menu are chosen from local South African producers. Our wines pair well with our food to carefully bring out the flavours of the dishes. Our cooking consists of traditional Cape cooking styles to take you back to your childhood. The restaurant is situated between the vineyards surrounded by mountains making it a perfect setting for a memorable experience.
Our kitchen staff consist only of people from our community. Tulbagh is a very small town with many people from disadvantaged backgrounds. All the staff in our kitchen are ladies who have not had it easy in life but are now flourishing at Rijk’s and are the people who make sure that your food is prepared to perfection.
Some of them can’t read and write but have taught themselves how to cook and make the amazing food that we serve here.
Traditional breakfast: 8am – 10am
Lunch: 12am – 4pm
Dinner: 6pm – 9pm
