Tasting notes
Attractively deep ruby red rimmed colour. The nose is that of freshly picked red rose petals, underlined by subtle peppery nuances carrying through onto a creamy palate with smooth tannins.

Decanting & Serving temperature
To release all flavours and to allow to breathe, please decant 1 hour before consumption. Recommended to be served at optimal temperature of 18 ºC.

Vinification & Maturation details
Hand picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness and flavours, after which they were gently handled throughout the winemaking process in order to produce this style of red wine. 100% Wood matured in 2nd fill 300 litre French oak barrels for 17 months.

Release date
Elegance, finesse and concentrated fruit reflecting the true character of the cultivar from our soils are the hallmarks of Rijk's Private Cellar wines. This wine was aged in the bottle for 1 year and 3 months. After many tastings and discussions it was only released in October 2008.
